It is vital that the disposal of hazardous waste is both extremely safe and reliable. One of the first stages in this process is to shred the waste using single-shaft and four-shaft shredders. UNTHA machines are widely used when demands are particularly challenging. The tried and tested, robust four-shaft shredder can be safely and reliably employed for shredding radioactive waste, steel drums containing hazardous materials or bacterially contaminated medical waste. Long-life cutters and a machine which functions with 100% reliability are essential in these ultra-demanding applications if contact with hazardous waste is to be reduced to an absolute minimum.
- Chemical container shredding
The UNTHA four-shaft shredder with its patented cutting system can be used safely and reliably for shredding particularly demanding hazardous waste, for example aggressive chemicals and similar. The machines are equipped with a specially designed shaft seal which prevents contaminants from penetrating into the shaft bearings. A stainless steel version of the machine can be supplied to protect the cutter chamber from corrosion. The UNTHA four-shaft system has been tried and tested in many applications and is successfully used in extremely stringent shredding tasks.
Our single-shaft shredders are particularly suitable for shredding large volumes of hazardous waste for disposal in hazardous waste incinerators. The machines achieve a granule size of less than 100 mm.
The machines can be equipped with either a hydraulic or an electro-mechanical drive depending on your requirements.
